October 16, 2022 Update

Updated: Oct 28, 2022

Sunday at Playas de Tijuana Javier and I arrived at 9:30 and started cleaning up. My specialty apparently is trash.

We found out that six people were apprehended between the two walls and had been detained there for over 48 hours without shelter, food, or water. You can see them in the photo. Several people bought food and threw it over the fence or handed it through a part of the fence without the heavy mesh. Later there was a silent protest against the 30 foot higher solid wall that is threatening to replace the one that is there now--an absolutely horrible idea.

Javier and a small group of other people put together all the canopies, tables, and chairs that are needed for the service. It's a huge job.

Meanwhile, the kids really liked coloring and already told me they wanted to finish next week the drawings they started today! We started a new galleria on the border wall.

Got home about 4:30. Tonight's agenda: ¡Solo fútbol!
